ICS Learn Case Study: StepChange | CIPD Courses

With the Level 3 CIPD qualification in Learning & Development Christina Coates an Operational Learning & Development Advisor, has brought new skills to the workplace.

My name is Christina Coates and I work as an Operational Learning & Development Advisor for StepChange Debt Charity. I am currently studying with ICS Learn towards my Level 3 CIPD qualification in Learning & Development.

There are three members of my team who were looking to complete the qualification. We got together one afternoon to look at the many different providers and wrote a list of pros and cons of each.

Due to the nature of our role we regularly work away, so we quickly decided that using a face-to-face provider wouldn’t work for us – we needed something that we could fit around our day-to-day jobs.

We then discovered ICS Learn and after reading about the support available, the flexibility and pace and the ease of access to the material we knew ICS was the provider for us!

After signing up, I was really impressed with the instant support from my tutor. Within hours I was sent an email from my tutor who explained the process and invited me to attend an introduction Webinar.

I will admit that at first, I was nervous and apprehensive about completing my qualification. However, as soon as I had received this email, I knew I had made the right decision to complete this course as it put me at ease.

I’m still completing my first module of the course; the guidance and support so far has been excellent, and I have been pleased with the quality of the materials provided.

Studying so far has helped me learn new some new skills and recap the skills I already had. It has given me the opportunity to reflect on my strengths and weaknesses and brought these to my focus in my day-to-day working life.

This in turn benefits my organisation as I am looking at continuously developing my skills. It’s reminded me of the importance of being motivated and to set clear deadlines for myself – which is a transferable skill in any role.

I would 100% recommend ICS Learn as the materials, support and flexibility is excellent. The course itself gives you a really good insight into the roles and expectations within the L&D function.

If you’re considering starting a course with ICS Learn – do it! Although it’s hard work, you certainly won’t regret it.
