AAT Level 2 and 3Combined Course in Bookkeeping

You don’t need any previous finance experience to enrol on this online course, however, you should have a reasonable standard of English and Maths (eg. GCSE Level 4 or equivalent).

If English is your second language, we recommend you have an IELTS 6.5 or equivalent, but we’re happy to review your case on an individual basis.

If you have a criminal record or have been made bankrupt, AAT might not accept you as a member making you unable to sit your exams. Please contact AAT directly for more advice.

Students must have access to Microsoft Word and Excel to complete the course.

Your course is fully online. 

As this course involves in-person exams, you should locate your nearest AAT exam centre using the venue finder tool before enrolling.

You'll study 2 units from the Level 2 Certificate:

• Introduction to Bookkeeping
• Principles of Bookkeeping Controls

Then, you'll study 2 units from the Level 3 Certificate:

• Preparing Financial Statements
• Tax Processes for Businesses

You’ll sit 4 exams in total: 2 Level 2 exams and 2 Level 3 exams.

The Level 2 Certificate in Bookkeeping is perfect if you have no or minimal bookkeeping experience, or if you haven't yet mastered essential skills like double-entry bookkeeping.
